Lipstick Wars Poetry Slam, created by spoken word artist and poet Rheonna Nicole, has created a new educational initiative, Lipstick University. The pilot session of this writing program will include multiple poetry workshops and a slam performance, led by an all-Black collective of poetry performers and educators, in partnership with Louisville Literary Arts and poetry professors.
This collaborative initiative will bridge together pedagogy and research-informed curriculum with the art of spoken word to enrich and empower novice writers and poets in Louisville. Each workshop will last two hours.
