ChoZen is a nonprofit organization that cultivates confidence and emotional intelligence by restoring the lost narratives of BIPOC and advocating cultural healing practices of members of unique subculture. We achieve this mission via the following avenues, performing arts/academic enrichment, publication, and wellness.

Executive Director Jasemine “Jazzy J” Reed began her career in arts and entertainment first as a performer in Louisville Kentucky’s spoken word poetry scene beginning in2015. She self-published her first chapbook of poetry in 2016, “Atonement…Thoughts & Reflections of A Poet,” and began a career as a teaching artist for public and private school Co-Op’s. Mrs. Reed is a 2019 MFA graduate of Spalding University School of Creative & Professional Writing. Mrs. Reed is the founder of Reedmywords Inc, a formal and creative writing agency that provides creative and formal writing services to youth and adults. In 2020, Mrs. Reed co-wrote and directed her first stage play/poetic short film, Stray, a community advocacy project against gun violence in urban communities.
