The Scholastic Art Awards program is the oldest and most prestigious student art competition in the United States for students in grades 7-12. On February 20th Virginia McEnerney, the Executive Director of the Alliance for Young Artists & Writer flew in from New York City to speak at the Awards ceremony.
Our region comprises 13 counties surrounding Jefferson county, including 5 southern Indiana counties; and, we have over 2000 entries per year in all 15 art categories, plus senior art portfolios. Over 300,000 entries are expected nationally this year!

The Louisville Metro Region has ranked in the top five nationally in the number of national award winners for a decade! This seems to be one of those “best-kept-secrets” that I wish wasn’t. There’s so much to be proud of, especially our area art students!
