The Fund for the Arts is pleased to announce that the Art-a-Thon telethon generated $422,831 in pledges and donations. The telethon, which lasted January 30th through February 3rd, was hosted by ACCENT Marketing Services, LLC, a member of the MDC Partners Network, at its New Albany engagement center.
The Fund’s numerous volunteers made phone calls asking people with an arts interest for donations.
“We are inspired by what our community can do when we come together. Raising $422,831 in one week says so much about how invested our region is in the arts. We began the week with a $200,000 matching grant, and by Thursday evening our board members and volunteers raised $222,831, for a grand total of $422,831for the arts in our region,” said Acting President & CEO Barbara Sexton Smith.
The Fund for the Arts announced their 2012 EXTREME $9.2 million goal last September. This goal is a 25% increase over 2011 donations.
