Flamenco Louisville

Get whisked away on a tour of southern Spain with authentic flamenco music and dance from Flamenco Louisville. Dancers in colorful costumes perform intricate movement and rhythmic footwork, accompanied by live singing and guitar. Various cities and regions of Andalucia are introduced between pieces, connecting them with their traditional “palos” (song forms). Audience members will be asked to join in with “jaleos” (words of encouragement) and “palmas” (hand clapping). The program includes historical and cultural information about Spain and the Spanish-speaking nations. Q&A with the audience concludes the 1-hour program.
