Last night I went to the Louisville Ballet’s Brown-Forman Nutcracker. I’ve seen the Nutcracker what feels like a million times and I even have a few painful memories of the old Louisville Ballet Nutcracker of 30 years ago at Memorial Auditorium. But, I raise my hand now and testify my belief: The new Louisville Ballet Brown-Forman Nutcracker is a wondrous experience not to be missed. When the sky in Whitney Hall filled with snow and I watched the thrill of my seven-year old daughter…I decided right then and there: I will do all I can to encourage you to share my Nutcracker conversion!
As if the magic of the Nutcracker isn’t enough, we thought we’d spread a little “extra holiday cheer” by offering $10 ArtsRush! tickets for this Sunday’s 1:30 p.m. matinee performance. A few special details: Tickets are available only by purchasing in person at the Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts Box office. Arrive when they open at 12 noon on Sunday, December 19th and purchase your tickets for the 1:30 p.m. performance. Seating availability is limited, so please be patient. And, because we want to make sure we have room for as many people as possible, we ask that you only buy two tickets each or four for a family. (Okay, if you have a bigger family we’ll fudge the numbers a bit).
Can’t make it Sunday for the ArtsRush! special? Go anyway. Visit Kentucky Center for the Arts Website for remaining performance dates and times.
Let me thank Brown-Forman for this most wonderful community gift, Louisville Ballet artistic director Bruce Simpson, and the Louisville Ballet for the artistic inspiration. And, of course you – for supporting the Fund for the Arts campaign. As always, it is always holiday time at the Fund for the Arts – Visit us at FundForTheArts.com and make your own gift!
May beautiful dancing fill all your holiday dreams!
