Dear Fund for the Arts,
Thank you again to Fund for the Arts for the support of our two grant programs this school year. I sent you some photos and a description of our 4th and 5th grade field trip to the Stage One production in November. Today I have attached photos from this week’s Adinkra artist in residency in conjunction with the Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft.
It was a fabulous workshop and very well organized. Our students learned so much about art and West African culture and history through this workshop and are very excited about the Adinkra cloths they will keep forever. The school is excited as well about our Adinkra quilt that will come from the third grade symbol creations. We are making connections to this workshop with our West African drum and dance units that are being studied this month and I truly believe the retention of this material will be much better due to this artist in residency.
Thank you again for all of your help this year. We are truly grateful to FFTA and will plan to continue supporting what you do through our payroll deductions and the FFTA campaign.
Sincerely,
Amy Cuenca
