There’s a whole lot of racing going on in town these days and it’s created quite a buzz. The whole world really does watch what we do and it’s our job to finish first every week, not just once a year. Through the Arts, we beat the odds!

Many of you met me last weekend for “Marathon Sunday” in a race that turned out to be our very own Triple Crown. Three arts events in one day! First race started at 3pm with standing room only at the Louisville Bach Society’s final performance. Coming around the first turn we saw more than 1,000 fans at Iroquois Amphitheater betting on the Louisville Youth Orchestra. Down the homestretch at 7pm, folks scurried for tickets, only to find the Louisville Youth Choir came from behind and sold out again!

Just like at the track. You should have seen the devastating disappointment turn to sheer excitement when a ticketless father was told, “But wait! We found one more ticket!” Oh my gosh – I whipped out my camera, asked him to open his Fund for the Arts umbrella, and took the shot. Ya gotta see it! Mug shots make my day! See his picture when you click on the weekly slide show below.

Everybody wins! Through the Arts we create wonderful experiences for our children and excitement for our community. Let’s have another great weekend. Put on a hat, grab your camera, and send me some fun photos. Let’s show the world just how great we are!

Looking for a guaranteed WINNER?  Click here and “like” Fund for the Arts on Facebook. When we hit 1949 friends, everyone WINS! That’s right – all 1949 Facebook friends will receive a winning ticket to an Arts event I pick for you. One lucky winner will receive two free tickets to a local Arts event of their choice! How cool is that! Click here for weekly slide show.

2gether through the Arts we create a great American city!
