I am honored today to announce the naming of the Owsley Brown II Center for Artistic Excellence. The W.L. Lyons Brown Theatre and surrounding properties at 315 West Broadway will bear this name proudly. Owsley was a true example of Henry Longfellow’s quote, “The life of a man consists not in seeing visions and in dreaming dreams, but in active charity and in willing service.” Our many thanks to the benefactors of this community who, like Owsley, make Louisville vibrant. In my video blog this week watch with me as we celebrate this great dedication and explore just a few of the many Arts opportunities made possible by you.
With so many wonderful events coming up, I think we should give away some tickets! Don’t you? All you have to do is make a comment on any of our social properties –Facebook, Twitter, Blog or YouTube – expressing why you believe a life of service and charity is important.
Every comment will enter you into a drawing to see comedian Kathleen Madigan on March 2nd at the Brown Theatre. Two winners will be chosen at random to win 2 tickets to the show. That’s double the chance for a night of laughter!
