Grounded in the works of Shakespeare, Kentucky Shakespeare enriches communities through accessible, inclusive, professional theatre experiences that educate, inspire, and entertain diverse audiences. Their vision is to use Shakespeare’s truths and the power of the arts to transform lives. Shakespeare belongs to everyone. Kentucky Shakespeare is most comprehensive in-school arts education provider in the Commonwealth, providing interactive performances, touring productions, workshops, and residencies. Their in-school and after-school workshops and extended residencies provide targeted experiential learning built to meet community needs. Schools, community partners, libraries, and organizations are able to choose from multiple programs in their brochure or have Kentucky Shakespeare design one specifically for them. Workshops and residencies include performance, critical thinking/creative problem solving, conflict resolution, and full interactivity and engagement. During the summer months, Kentucky Shakespeare offers Camp Shakespeare programs for ages 4-18, and the culmination of their experience is a performance on the Central Park stage.
