As a teaching artist, Dr. Jabani Bennett’s mission is to facilitate transformative, arts-based experiences that foster creativity, mindfulness, and personal growth. With a professional background as a collage artist, certified yoga teacher, and licensed educator, she designs and leads arts integration workshops that empower participants to explore their identities, emotions, and stories through a multidisciplinary lens. Her approach is grounded in the belief that creativity, when combined with intentional self-reflection and embodied practices, can be a powerful catalyst for healing and community connection.
Dr. Jabani’s work focuses on the intersection of visual art, mindfulness, and education. Using collage as a primary medium, she guides participants through accessible, process-oriented artmaking that encourages personal expression and intuitive decision-making. These experiences are supported by breathwork, movement, and reflective writing—practices that deepen self-awareness and emotional resilience. By integrating trauma-sensitive and culturally responsive strategies, she ensures that each workshop meets participants where they are, creating space for all voices and learning styles to be honored.
She offers programming in a range of settings, including schools, businesses, community organizations, and virtual platforms. Each workshop or residency is thoughtfully designed to support social-emotional learning, promote equity, and cultivate creative agency. Participants leave with both artistic outcomes and personal insights that extend beyond the classroom or studio. Through this work, Dr. Jabani strives to build inclusive, creative communities that value introspection, collaboration, and the lifelong potential of the arts to transform lives.
