Exploring Entrepreneurship, Women’s Empowerment, and the Arts at Churchill Downs

LOUISVILLE, KY, October 18, 2017- American Inventor and Entrepreneur Joy Mangano will be the keynote speaker at the Inventing Joy Luncheon benefitting the Jennifer Lawrence Arts Fund at the Fund for the Arts on November 10 at Churchill Downs. In support of her highly-anticipated debut book, INVENTING JOY: Dare to Build a Brave and Creative Life, Mangano will share her blueprint for success and underscore the importance of women’s leadership and empowerment in business, as well as all aspects of life. Inventing Joy Luncheon is presented by UPS and co-hosted by Fund for the Arts, Jennifer Lawrence Foundation, Churchill Downs, and Joy Mangano. Limited single tickets are available at http://bit.ly/2zwEzOf.

“My life is proof that, no matter who you are or where you’re from, you have the power to change the world. I know it, because I’ve lived it, and I continue to live it every day,” said Joy Mangano. “My book is about helping others find and take that first step in creating a better life and better world – and I hope that I can unlock that excitement with those who I connect with through the Fund for The Arts and Jennifer Lawrence Foundation.”

The luncheon will convene many of the region’s top business, civic, and arts leaders to explore the role of creativity in entrepreneurship and women’s empowerment. A panel discussion led by Fund for the Arts President and CEO Christen Boone will follow the keynote address. The event will take place in the Trophy Room from 12:30 – 2 PM with guests entering at Gate 10. A $50 ticket includes lunch and autographed copy of INVENTING JOY.

“Joy is a true American icon and entrepreneur like no other who has harnessed creativity to sell nearly $3 billion in product,” said Christen Boone, Fund for the Arts President and CEO. “She is also a critical partner in the success of Louisville’s Awards in the Arts. We’re grateful for her continued support of the Jennifer Lawrence Arts Fund.”

The Jennifer Lawrence Arts Fund supports the mission of the Fund for the Arts and the key objectives identified by the Jennifer Lawrence Foundation (a component fund of the Community Foundation of Louisville, Inc.) which are to promote and support arts excellence, access, and education.
