Fund for the Arts partners with volunteers from Humana Digital Engagement Center to create “Louisville Arts Link”

Louisville, Ky. (January 29, 2016) – A new mobile app will make it easier than ever for Louisville residents and guests to enjoy the city’s vast arts opportunities. The Fund for the Arts has created “Louisville Arts Link”, sponsored by Republic Bank, to be a central location for schedules and information about local arts events, plus special offers and ticket packages for Fund supporters. The app will make its public debut at The Fund’s annual campaign kickoff event on Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2016.

Louisville Arts Link will feature a comprehensive events calendar, where arts-goers can view in one place all upcoming performances, exhibits, art openings and other events across the city. The app will also include a donors’ interface, where donors at the $52 per year level or higher can access exclusive offers and ticket specials, formerly only available on their printed Arts Cards. Offers will include special ticket packages, first option to purchase, free performances and last-minute discount offers.

Those wishing to support the arts can also make donations to Fund for the Arts directly via the mobile app.

“Our goal for the app is to help promote local arts opportunities while increasing access, event attendance, engagement and awareness,” said Christen Boone, Fund for the Arts president and CEO. “The arts are everywhere in Louisville and Louisville Arts Link will make it so easy for our residents and visitors to discover and experience them.”

The app was created by a team of volunteers from the Humana Digital Experience Center. This team develops user-centered products – nimbly, efficiently and rapidly – in an environment centered around collaboration. In partnership with Do502, Fund for the Arts utilizes Do502 existing events platform to upload and manage events within the app.

“The Digital Experience Center team is proud to have volunteered to co-create the app with the Fund, its constituents and supporters,” said Antonio Melo, Director of the Humana Digital Experience Center. “It is a meaningful and tangible way for us to give back to the vibrant arts community in Louisville that we consider to be among the city’s great treasures.”

“Humana’s team designed a comprehensive, yet user-friendly app that allows arts groups to provide timely offers to a broader audience, through the real-time Twitter feed,” Boone said. “We are so grateful for the generosity of corporate partners like Humana, who help us make arts innovations possible in our city.”

The Louisville Arts Link mobile app will be available for download beginning Tuesday, Feb. 2. To download the app, visit the App Store on your mobile device and search “Louisville Arts Link.” This app is compatible with all iOS devices.
