LOUISVILLE, KY (OCT. 26, 2015) — Fund for the Arts and Stoll Keenon Ogden PLLC presented Marlene Grissom with the 2015 James Welch Sr. Arts Award on Friday evening at the Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft.

“Marlene’s years of service have helped shape and made a lasting impact on our thriving Arts landscape,” said SKO’s Vice Chair Kendrick R. Riggs. “Stoll Keenon Ogden is proud to recognize her as this year’s recipient of the James Welch Sr. Arts Award.”

As Director of Special Projects for the Waterfront Development Corporation, Grissom led a successful $40 million fundraising campaign for the Waterfront Park, curated the park’s public art and administered the LED lighting system on the Big Four Bridge.

A tireless community volunteer, Grissom’s board service includes the Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft (chair), Louisville Ballet, Louisville Science Center, J.B. Speed Art Museum, Metro Committee on Public Art, Fund for the Arts, Scenic Kentucky (chair), Art Center Association, Gallopalooza, Channel 15 and KET (chair). She chaired the Louisville Ballet’s capital fund drive and the capital campaign for the Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft.

She is also a member of the Appraisers Association of America, the University of Pennsylvania Trustees Council, Group of 100 Women and Junior League of Louisville. Grissom was recognized with the “Star” award for accomplishments in the arts from the Pleiades Theatre Company and was chosen as a Woman of Distinction by The Center for Women and Families.

The James Welch Sr. Arts Award is named in honor of a founding member of Stoll Keenon Ogden’s legacy law firm. Welch’s decades of guidance and support helped shape the vibrant Louisville’s Arts community of today. Presented annually, the award recognizes an individual who has made a substantial impact to Louisville and the regional Arts community through volunteerism and leadership.
