The Louisville Youth Orchestra’s 53rd season is shaping up to be one of itsbest yet! Concerts with famous groups and fabulous guest artists in the bestperformance halls in the city and around the state! Don’t miss out on thisgreat opportunity. You can’t join the fun unless you take the audition!
Auditions for the LYO’s 53nd season will be held in late August and earlySeptember, 2010. These auditions are for musicians through age twenty-onewho play any orchestral instrument.
Have a solo prepared of approximately two minutes in length and be readyto play selected scales.
The LYO is comprised of four orchestras of varying ability levels rangingin age from five to twenty-one as well as a Percussion Ensemble, flute choirand brass ensemble! The LYO performs an average of fifteen concerts perseason in a wide range of locations and is one of the largest youth orchestrasin the nation based on metropolitan size with total membership toppingover 350.
NEW THIS SEASON! A new ensemble will be offered within the LYO family for all saxophone players! This saxophone choir will focus on qualitymusic performance in an advanced training setting. All saxophone playersare welcome to audition for this group.
