Arts Innovation Award: Louisville Children’s Film Festival

Founded in 2017 by Martha Nichols-Pecceu, the Louisville Children’s Film Festival is an annual presentation of independent films for and by kids from all around the globe. Each year the Festival selects more than 20 films and reaches close to 1,000 people during its week of screenings while bringing media arts programs to local schools and running other such workshops year-round. Local children even submit, review, and select films for the Festival! More than anything though, Louisville Children’s Film Festival provides children with imagination and insight into different cultures and ways of life through the art of film.
