We define a great American city as safe, healthy, educated and vibrant! Come along with me as we visit Kosair Children’s Hospital and see for ourselves how the Arts play a key role in the healing process. Norton Healthcare and Fund for the Arts teamed up to deliver a new program we call Fall into the Arts with Expressive Art Therapists at Kosair Children’s Hospital.
All through October the Louisville Orchestra, Actors Theatre, and the Louisville Visual Art Association have been partnering with Kosair Children’s Hospital to bring Art therapy to the patients, their families, and to the staff. It has been an incredible success! But don’t take my word for it. Emily Johnson, Expressive Art Therapist at Kosair Children’s Hospital, sent us a note to tell us how it was going. She wrote, “Just wanted to share with everyone that our visiting artist, Jackie from LVAA, has been wonderful! She did a wonderful job facilitating a new project with our families – Gelli Prints! Thank you for bringing this visiting artist to work with us and our families!”
