Two years ago, working on the FFTA Individual campaign, I met a wonderful Arts Investor, Richard Leezer.
Richard and his wife support several of our Arts groups in Louisville – and in Fort Wayne, IN, where his daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter have all danced in the Nutcracker!
The Leezers especially enjoy interacting with the Louisville Youth Choir, attending concerts and fundraisers to support this important Fund for the Arts Cultural Partner, and Sharon’s nephew Tom Fenton serves on the LYC Board.
Like so many donors who once gave through FFTA Workplace Campaigns, Richard retired and missed getting a new Fund umbrella every year. He called us to see if there was any way he was still eligible for that gift. Of course we were thrilled to meet such a longtime donor, and invited him to visit 623 West Main Street at his convenience.
I was happy to meet Richard when he arrived, and proud to tour him through our wonderful space. We had a great time and enjoyed each other’s company; it’s always a pleasure to the FFTA staff to interact with our dedicated supporters!
So guess who stopped by recently? It was Richard, dropping off his 2012 Campaign pledge card, and picking up his gorgeous new lime and purple Fund for the Arts umbrella!! What a nice treat for me, to re-connect with this charming and interesting man, who believes in and supports the Arts in Louisville wholeheartedly.
Thank you, Richard and Sharon, Tom and Karen – thanks to all the dedicated and loyal Fund for the Arts Investors! You make it easy for me to love what I do!
Until next time,
