What a week!  We are closing in on the final days of the Fund for the Arts Campaign and every moment counts; moments like watching the incredibly talented Kylie and Caroline WOW the employees of American Commercial Lines.  Watching a check presentation  from Fourth Street Live to Lincoln Elementary School.  And last but not least, receiving the Americans for the Arts’ Michael Newton Award on a national stage!

The folks at Jeffboat let me swing an ax for the first time in my life and I still have ten toes!  One swing, six ropes cut, and the barge launched right into the beautiful OHIO!  Simply amazing – 17,000 hours to build the 299 foot barge by folks who pledged more than $60,000 to the Arts.  Thank you!  With just over a week to go we need to raise $57,602 each day to meet our goal of $8.2 million dollars.  I can’t help reflecting upon all the hours it has taken to build our very own “Arts Barge” which will carry 400,000 Arts experiences to children throughout the region.  So thank you!  Thank you for giving, thank you for advocating, and thank you for caring about the Arts!  If you want to help us reach our goal, click the Donate Today! button above in the header.

I know you want to see me swing that axe.  Watch this week’s video blog for every exciting moment!
