DESCRIPTION:The Conrad-Caldwell House Museum is a Richardsonian Romanesque Mansion\, built between 1893-1895 for wealthy industrialist Theophilus Conrad. The home has been lovingly restored to the early 1900s when the second family\, the Caldwell Family\, resided in the home. This Summer\, The Conrad-Caldwell House Museum will be open for Self-Guided Tours between the hours of 12 and 2:30 pm Wednesday-Sunday for Cultural Passholders. We invite visitors to explore this ornate mansion and learn what life was like for men\, women\, children\, and the staff employed by two prominent families during Louisville’s Gilded Age. Cultural Passholders will be welcomed with a few more surprises during their visit\, including access to two exhibits; “Hidden in Plain Sight: The Lives of Servants at 1402 St. James Court” and “The Indoor Victorian Garden Exhibit (During June Only)”. \nAges 6 & Up
