Artists as Change Agents Workshops

Fund for the Arts and EmcArts seek individual artists and teaching artists from any discipline to apply for immersive, capacity-building workshops to develop community-building skills and change-making processes.

About the Workshops:
Artists as Change Agents works with individual artists to support their growth as leaders in the community. Over four whole-day and 2 evening sessions, a cohort of local artists will focus on five artistic capabilities** and practices that equip artists with skills to address community challenges and effect systems-level change. Participation is free for those selected.


  • Artists living in Greater Louisville (Jefferson, Shelby, Spencer, Bullitt, Oldham counties in KY and Clark, Floyd Harrison counties in Southern IN)
  • Should have at least five years of professional experience and practice
  • Should already be engaging in community-based art-making (beyond the studio/classroom)
